Job summary

STV, Inc. in Seattle seeks a Project Engineer to support healthcare capital projects, working with owners representatives, managers, architects and contractors to coordinate design, procurement, construction, and turnover in active facilities.

You will assist with document control, cost tracking, schedules, field observations, and ensuring compliance with contract documents while minimizing disruption to patients and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3+ years of construction, engineering, or project coordination experience, preferably in healthcare or complex projects.
• Experience leading through design and construction phases.
• Knowledge of construction documents, RFIs, submittals, change management, cost tracking, scheduling, and project controls.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and issue escalation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, facilities teams, and client stakeholders.
• Assist in monitoring design and construction activities for contract compliance, project requirements, quality standards, and client objectives.
• Maintain and track project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change requests, meeting minutes, logs, drawings, specs, and correspondence).
• Assist with tracking budgets, forecasts, POs, COs, invoices, pay apps, and other project controls.
• Monitor schedules, milestones, deliverables, and outstanding action items.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs, and contractor documentation; coordinate responses with team.
• Support project meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on actions and deliverables.
• Assist with bid packages, contractor coordination, procurement activities, and contract administration.
• Conduct site observations documenting progress, field conditions, issues, and coordination needs.
• Support construction in active healthcare facilities while minimizing patient/staff disruption.
• Coordinate utility shutdowns, equipment installation/relocation, commissioning, inspections, phased occupancy, punch lists, turnover.
• Identify risks or conflicts and help develop solutions with the team.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
