Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead hospital design and construction projects from concept through occupancy. You will manage budgets, schedules, and quality, coordinating with the Corporate Facilities Department and hospital teams to minimize family impact.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years as owner’s representative in healthcare settings, strong communication skills, and familiarity with NFPA codes and AIA contracts. On-call 24/7.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required or equivalent healthcare PM experience.
• PE or Architect registration preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years' experience as Owner's representative in healthcare facility projects or similar.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication with senior administration.
• Knowledge of hospital codes and standards (NFPA 99, NFPA 101, etc.).
• Familiarity with AIA design/construction contracts; MS Office basics; e-Builder; scheduling tools.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team; flexible with shifts; on-call 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects from concept to turnover and occupancy, ranging from under $20k to $50M+.
• Select and coordinate design consultants; lead RFPs and contractor bids.
• Create and manage conceptual budgets and master schedules; monitor changes and stay on budget.
• Review drawings to ensure code compliance and quality; lead design reviews with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to minimize disruption to patients and families; lead meetings.
• Present progress to committees; maintain ICRA compliance with facilities teams.
• Ensure completion, turnover, and closeout per codes and safety standards; manage contractors and vendors.
• Identify risks and communicate barriers and countermeasures to stakeholders.
