Job summary

WellMed Optum Florida is seeking a Construction Project Manager – Special Projects to lead planning, design, permitting, and execution across 94 clinics in Florida. You will manage renovations, expansions, and capital projects while maintaining patient care with minimal disruption.

You will build and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships, travel across Florida, and partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, standards-based delivery across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction project management or related experience.
• Experience managing projects from planning through closeout.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, bidding, and change-order knowledge.
• Experience selecting and managing architects, engineers, general contractors, and vendors.
• Experience handling multiple projects across a dispersed portfolio.
• Strong financial skills and ability to travel within Florida.
• Ability to work in active, occupied environments with minimal disruption.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from planning to turnover and closeout.
• Oversee renovations, relocations, and other capital projects.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, milestones; review invoices and change orders.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and clinic impact.
• Identify risks and mitigate; manage warranties and turnover to Facilities.
