Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred in healthcare or education.
• 3+ years coding experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC certifications required per listed Licenses & Certifications.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS or CPT/HCPCS and DRG/IPPS/OPPS reimbursement methods.
• Ability to translate audit findings into clear education and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Reviews pre-bill and post-bill audit results to identify coding accuracy trends and education needs.
• Evaluates DRG validation findings to support targeted education.
• Reviews charge capture and retrospective findings for gaps in coding accuracy.
• Develops individualized education plans based on audit results and gaps.
• Designs team-based education programs to address common trends and reinforce coding practices.
• Creates education materials, job aids, and guidance based on findings.
