Job summary

Independence Physician Management (IPM) invites applications for a Coding Auditor responsible for validating ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding against clinical documentation. You will apply coding knowledge and auditing skills to ensure timely, accurate audits in line with CMS LCDs.

The role requires 3–5 years in healthcare billing/coding, AAPC CPC certification, and familiarity with CPT-4/ICD-10. You may monitor trends, provide education to providers, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare billing, coding, auditing or equivalent.
• AAPC CPC Certification required.
• Understanding of CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes and CMS guidelines.
• Experience with billing software like Cerner, Epic or IDX is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and timely reviews of clinical documentation to ensure ICD-10, CPT-4 and HCPCS coding is supported by the medical record.
• Reports findings to the Coding Manager with attention to productivity and quality targets.
• Educates providers on documentation requirements to support coding and ensure all coding possibilities are captured.
• Maintains knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes and coding policies; participates in ongoing education as required.
