Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a night-shift environmental services worker responsible for daily cleaning, bed-making, sanitization, and maintaining safety protocols. You will follow eight-step procedures, manage waste, and ensure patient areas are clean and ready for discharge, while adhering to CARE standards and performing duties with dexterity and stamina.

Must be able to communicate in English at a level suitable for safe operation, and be prepared to work nights from 9:00

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred (experience acceptable).
• Must understand and converse in English at a level that enables safe, efficient performance of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning, bed-making, wall spotting, and high/low dusting.
• Follow eight-step cleaning procedures and maintain professional, safe work practices.
• Use caution signs and cones to ensure safety.
• Complete unfinished tasks from previous shifts and report maintenance issues.
• Clean up organic body waste (blood, body fluids, feces, etc.) as instructed.
• Hang cubicle curtains, shower curtains, and window coverings.
• Sanitize patient equipment after discharge.
• Learn and demonstrate new healthcare cleaning procedures as needed.
• Adhere to I C.A.R.E. standards.
• Must possess manual dexterity and endurance to stand for long periods.
