Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking a strategic category leader who acts as a trusted advisor for complex category portfolios in the healthcare sector.

You will shape category strategies, lead sourcing initiatives, and drive value through analytics, risk mitigation, and authoritative guidance to clients. You will influence executive stakeholders, oversee negotiations, and mentor teams while applying AI tools to improve decision making and strategic outcomes for diverse clients and projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience required.
• Healthcare/Hospital/GPO negotiation experience required.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational, client and supplier stakeholders.
• Clinical environment experience highly preferred.
• Advanced negotiation and contracting skills with complex supplier agreements.
• Strong analytical, presentation and relationship management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of AI tools and responsible use guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead category strategies for complex portfolios aligned to client priorities and objectives.
• Serve as category SME and advisor across sourcing, contracting, and value analysis initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing, including RFI/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiations and contracts.
• Negotiate complex terms and provide guidance on contracting approaches.
• Lead stakeholder committees and align clinical, executive, operational, and supplier teams.
• Present strategies and outcomes to executive audiences and build long-term value.
• Manage portfolios with cross-functional teams to hit annual goals.
• Monitor market, regulatory, supply chain developments to mitigate risk and realize savings.
• Mentor team members and represent Vizient in client and industry engagements.
• Apply advanced AI fluency to enhance strategy, market intelligence and decision-making.
