Job summary

Graystone Ophthalmology Associates Pa is seeking a Business Office Billing Representative to support follow-up on insurance payments, patient payments, denials, refunds, and payment plan setups. You will post checks and credit card payments, record denials with accurate reason codes, and adjust write-offs as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; 1-year certificate or 3+ years related experience.
• Knowledge of medical insurance; strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with most software applications.
• Ability to process refunds and set up payment plans.

Responsibilities

• Posts all insurance checks and adjusts write-offs as required.
• Reviews and posts patient payments (checks, credit cards) from mail or phone.
• Enter and post all insurance denials with the appropriate reason codes.
• Answers patient questions on Billing Q and via calls, portals, and emails.
• Monitors billing voicemail, patient portal, and billing tasks; follows up appropriately.
• Assists patients with setting up payment plans and income verification forms as needed.
• Reviews and completes Business Office reports and balance sheets.
