Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Billing / Accounts Receivable Specialist for a six-month temporary assignment in Highland Park, NJ. The role focuses on private-pay billing with some Medicare/Medicaid activity, supporting a centralized billing team across multiple nursing home locations.

Ideal candidates have healthcare billing experience or healthcare admin backgrounds and strong customer service and communication skills. Onsite, with opportunities to develop billing expertise.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience is required.
• 1-2 years of billing, accounts receivable, or collections experience preferred.
• Experience with medical/hospital/senior living billing is strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking with residents and families regarding billing matters.
• Basic Excel and email skills.
• PointClickCare experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support billing and accounts receivable activity for multiple nursing home locations.
• Process and review private-pay billing.
• Follow up on outstanding balances and assist with collections-related communication.
• Respond to billing questions from residents, families, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with account follow-up and issue resolution.
• Use Excel, email, and internal systems to track billing activity.
• Support the Billing Manager and centralized billing team with additional administrative tasks as needed.
