Job summary

SERV Behavioral Health System is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to handle billing, submit claims, and resolve escalated billing issues. You will train staff, assist with onboarding, and manage complex AR processes in Clifton, NJ.

Ideal candidates have experience in behavioral health billing, strong EHR skills, and the ability to improve denial rates and cash flow. Flexible evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience in behavioral health billing and revenue cycle management.
• Proficiency with medical billing software and EHR systems.
• Strong CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge and payer processes.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Submit claims to insurance for behavioral health services.
• Manage Medicaid FFS (NJMAPPS) and current EHR submissions.
• Follow up on denied/aged claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Ensure accurate coding and payer compliance.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and cash flow.
• Prepare AR reports and assist with appeals as needed.
• Assist front desk revenue tasks as needed in Clifton, NJ.
• Identify strategies to reduce denials and improve processes.
