Job summary

Action Behavior Centers is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist I in Austin to support the revenue cycle management team. You will work under the Accounts Receivable Manager and Director, handling payer issues, denials, and timely reimbursements in a medical setting.

This role requires 3+ years of AR/revenue cycle experience, knowledge of medical terms, and experience with third-party billing. Austin, TX is preferred, with remote flexibility for the right background.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of AR/revenue cycle experience in medical settings.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and guidelines.
• Experience with third-party billing/revenue cycle management.
• Austin, TX preferred but remote work possible for qualified candidates.
• Experience with CentralReach practice management system preferred.
• Experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with insurance carriers daily on past due claims using calls and payer portals.
• Understand in/out of network reimbursement processes/methodologies.
• Investigate and resolve claims submitted to insurance for payment and document actions taken.
• Investigate and collect information related to denials and file reconsiderations/appeals as needed.
• Collaborate with RCM team to resolve processing issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
• Work with AR Management to identify payer issues and trends and respond strategically.
