Job summary

You will resolve patient inquiries, educate patients on financial responsibilities, and document actions in the billing system to ensure accurate account handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Successful completion of defined core competency testing for Accounts Receivable Representatives.
• 1 year work experience, preferably in a medical facility, insurance company or office setting.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer issues and answer patient inquiries regarding accounts, charges, and procedures through effective communication and one-call resolution guidelines.
• Create cost estimates for patients and assist with follow up questions.
• Educate patients on their financial responsibilities, including payment arrangements, insurance processing, and self-pay balances.
• Document all actions taken on patient accounts within the billing system and review accounts for discrepancies.
• Verify demographic and insurance information while ensuring compliance with patient privacy laws, including HIPAA.
• Offer financial assistance program information and provide recommendations for improvement based on observed trends and issues.
