Job summary

Writers is seeking a Technical Writer Contractor in Portland, OR with on-site and remote work options. You will transform complex tech data into clear documentation for users and partners, focusing on software docs, API docs, and knowledge bases in healthcare.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and SMEs to produce comprehensive guides, maintain our knowledge base, and apply data analytics to improve content quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven history in software documentation, API docs, and knowledge bases.
• Experience with Confluence and content management systems.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Create documentation suites for existing and upcoming products.
• Develop API documentation and developer tutorials for engineers.
• Collaborate with SMEs, product managers and engineers to grasp features.
• Translate technical specifications into easy-to-understand guides.
• Develop and maintain online knowledge base, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Use analytics to assess documentation effectiveness and refine strategies.
• Ensure adherence to document governance practices.
• Test internal content and tools to highlight improvements.
• Write software testing procedures and manage defects.
• Lead cross-functional testing efforts and requirements activities.
