Job summary

First Roles is seeking a Healthcare Business Analyst to support operations, data analysis, and reporting across healthcare systems. You will gather requirements, write SQL queries, and collaborate with clinical, operational, financial, and technical teams to drive data-informed decisions.

The role emphasizes workflow optimization, BRD and user story creation, and KPI reporting using BI tools. Hybrid work options may be available, with location flexibility in Chicago or Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3–6 years in business analysis, healthcare analytics, healthcare IT, or related analytical role.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction, querying, validation, and analysis.
• Experience gathering requirements, documenting business processes, and translating stakeholder needs into functional specifications.
• Experience creating operational reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders across clinical, administrative, financial, and IT departments.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from healthcare databases.
• Assess existing business processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks and improvements.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance reports, dashboards, and KPIs using Excel, Power BI, Tableau.
• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and project managers.
• Support system implementations, upgrades, and process transitions.
