A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Healthcare Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage patient admissions, verify insurance benefits, and assist with billing processes. The Healthcare Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for verifying benefits and eligibility on admission inquiries, preparing financial folders, ensuring all demographics and patient information are correct in MS4, collecting co-pays/deductibles from patients, and collecting insurance payments. They assist with establishing effective and timely payment plans, coordinate with utilization review and discharge planning to limit the risk of non-payment, provide ongoing patient benefit information, participate in patient discharge procedures, and coordinate financial arrangements with collecting personnel.
Additional duties include assisting with physicians' billing, verifying that all codes are checked, auditing physicians' billing sheets against patient progress notes for each day, printing face sheets, and scanning documents to the third-party billing company.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: At least one (1) year of experience in admission processes and collections procedures, with a working knowledge of managed care, insurance coverage plans, co-payments, deductibles, and payment plans. Experience in data entry, proficiency in 10-key and typing, and working knowledge of computers and business software (Excel/Word) are preferred.
Additional Requirements: May require occasional overtime and flexible hours. AHCCCS certification for member benefit enrollment is required.
