Job summary

Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation (BBAHC) is seeking an Accounts Payable Technician to ensure accurate processing of vendor invoices and expense reports within a healthcare setting in Alaska. You will work with internal teams and vendors to maintain timely payments and robust records, supporting cash flow and financial reporting.

The role requires attention to detail, 2+ years in AP, and experience with accounting software and Excel; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role, preferably within healthcare.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, invoice processing, and payment reconciliation.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports for payment in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Match purchase orders, invoices, and payment requests to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records with data entry and filing.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address payment inquiries and resolve disputes.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing by preparing AP reports and reconciling statements.
• Support audits with documentation and respond to auditor inquiries related to AP transactions; identify process improvements.
