Job summary

Kindred Hospital Brea is seeking an Accounts Payable professional to manage payables processing, vendor inquiries, and reporting. The role supports journal entries, reconciliations, and budgeting activities within a hospital finance environment.

Strong knowledge of AP, general ledger systems, and MS Office is required. Bachelor's in accounting preferred, with Healthcare experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; accounting experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to measure and assess service quality.
• Adheres to financial policies and procedures established by the Corporation.
• Reviews accounts payable documents; matches receiving reports, POs, and invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Records vendor and expense account numbers on invoices and batches for processing.
• Reviews accounts payable check runs and ensures accuracy.
• Reconciles supplier credit memos with hospital debit memos and resolves discrepancies.
• Prepares manual checks as directed following established procedures.
• Handles inquiries from employees and vendors regarding PO, invoices, and AP reports.
• Prepares AP reports and maintains AP records; handles special AP projects.
• Maintains hospital fixed asset records and coordinates payments for capital items.
• Prepares monthly accrual journal entries with supporting backups.
• Prepares other journal entries as directed by Controller/Accounting Manager.
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations and monthly reimbursement package.
• Assists in annual budget preparation and other close tasks.
• Prepares daily statistical and cash reports; assists in payroll preparation if needed.
