Job summary

Olmsted Medical Group is seeking a PRN Health Unit Coordinator to support day, evening, night, and weekend shifts as needed in the Rochester, MN area. Starting pay ranges from $20.40 to $29.98 per hour based on experience.

The role involves managing unit resources, using the EHR for patient scheduling and documentation, and coordinating with scheduling teams. BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required, with prior medical clerical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Health Unit Coordinator program certificate preferred.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical-related field preferred.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to deal tactfully with people.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to use personal computer, printers, telephone, fax, and copy machines.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains unit resources and supplies.
• Utilizes EHR for patient verification, scheduling, admissions/transfers/discharges, completing forms and documentation, and managing incoming charts/records within the department.
• Communicates with all levels of staff.
• Protects the confidentiality of patient information.
• CCHD monitoring verified in MDH system.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Coordinates with clinician scheduling team to keep clinician schedules up to date.
• Coordinates OBG clinician schedules with the surgery scheduling team.
• Manages FMLA forms/short-term disability.
• Assists with managing PTO requests and staff assignments.
• Attends education and training as required.
