Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC I) to manage daily clerical operations on a nursing unit, acting as a communication hub for the care team. The role works closely with the charge nurse to ensure patient needs are met and regulatory standards are followed.

The HUC I demonstrates medical terminology knowledge, organizational and computer skills, and proficiency with office software. Weekend, holiday, and flexible scheduling is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross is required or as required by unit.
• Three years of work commensurate experience or related training and/or college-level courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily clerical operations on a nursing unit.
• Support unit operations with the charge nurse to meet patient needs.
• Monitor compliance with environmental and regulator standards.
• Maintain unit supplies and equipment.
