Job summary

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator I to provide operational support on the unit and act as a first-line customer service advocate. You will help coordinate patient flow, respond to call lights, and assist in onboarding staff as needed.

Responsibilities include transcribing orders, maintaining patient locations in Epic, and ensuring timely communication with other units. A high school diploma and healthcare exposure are required; BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year healthcare or related experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) preferred.
• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to call lights and directs inquiries to appropriate parties.
• Greets and assists patients, visitors, physicians, students, and staff, coordinating nursing and department activities.
