Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is seeking a caregiver for the H50 Colorectal Surgery unit. You will work with a dedicated team delivering world‑class care and supporting patients and families in a high‑quality hospital setting.

Evening/night rotation (3:00pm–11:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am) will involve greeting patients, responding to call lights, assisting with admissions and discharges, helping with wayfinding, and maintaining medical records while providing essential bedside support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a customer service-related role.
• Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
• Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
• Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble‑shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.

The H50 nursing unit for Colorectal Surgery is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Digestive Disease Institute, which has been ranked second in the nation. Working with 16 colorectal surgeons, our dedicated and highly engaged nursing staff is focused on providing world-class medical and surgical care to patients with medical problems such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and genetic bowel disease.

A caregiver in this position works evening/night rotation, 3:00pm—11:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Microsoft Office experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.25

Maximum hourly: $24.95
