Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Health Teacher at Roosevelt High to provide high-quality instruction aligned to state and national standards. The role emphasizes diagnostic and formative assessments, inquiry-based tasks, and collaboration with the campus STEM team to deliver integrated instruction across disciplines.

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree, prior urban/multicultural teaching experience, and ongoing professional development; a master's or PhD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting.
• Demonstrated continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration and/or job-embedded staff development.
• Master's or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction aligned to the state and national standards.
• Use a variety of assessment strategies to inform instructional decisions.
• Engage students in rigorous, inquiry-based learning tasks.
• May work with campus STEM teams to integrate instruction across disciplines.
• Collaborate with peers to plan and implement best practices.
• Assess and support diverse student needs.
• Communicate with families to support learning.
• Support district improvement goals and participate in PDP.
