Job description

The Health Services Program Manager is an experienced mental health professional responsible for implementing and overseeing health-related services for families experiencing homelessness at Mary's Place. This role manages day-to-day health services across all Mary’s Place sites, including direct guest support, onsite health events, communication with medical systems, partnerships with external community providers, and program volunteers. The manager ensures guests access healthcare resources in the community, such as clinical health, mental health/behavioral health, and specialty care. Collaboration with the Volunteer Services team is essential to identify volunteer support opportunities.

The manager actively engages in Mary's Place racial equity work—striving for equitable outcomes and fostering communities for people of color, immigrants and refugees, trans and gender-non-conforming people, and other marginalized populations.

This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Director of Supportive Services and supervises the Health Services team, including Care Coordinators and Behavioral Health Specialists. Flexibility to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays is required. The role involves working at multiple sites around King County, including Downtown Seattle and Bellevue. The annual salary range is $88,000/Yr., DOE.

Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership (40%)
  • Implement the vision for Health Services in coordination with leadership
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external health service partners
  • Research and implement best practices for health and safety
  • Coordinate harm reduction practices, including Naloxone distribution and safe sharps removal
  • Provide training to staff, including orientation and emergency response training
  • Oversee health-related programs in shelters
  • Build relationships with healthcare providers and community agencies
  • Consult with public health agencies on emergency procedures and policies
  • Create and update departmental policies and procedures
Team Leadership (25%)
  • Lead a diverse team through hiring, supervision, coaching, and performance management
  • Oversee health volunteers, including onboarding and support
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team meetings
  • Ensure comprehensive onboarding and training for staff
  • Approach challenges with a solutions-oriented attitude
  • Maintain an active presence across shelters
  • Ensure outcomes meet standards and maintain family and program files
  • Manage program budgets and expenses
  • Provide consultation for health-related development and reporting
Direct Behavioral Health Support (20%)
  • Engage with families, providing behavioral healthcare support, referrals, education, safety planning, crisis management, and warm handoffs
  • Apply trauma-informed, harm reduction, and equity principles in all interactions
  • Maintain records and monitor health-related goals
Behavioral Health Consultation (15%)
  • Coach staff on behavioral health challenges
  • Attend meetings to coordinate care
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations, focusing on BIPOC-led initiatives
  • Create staff training on trauma-informed engagement
