Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools seeks a CTE Health Sciences Work-based Learning Coordinator for the 12th grade to lead internships, job shadows, and paid work experiences, aligning with Career and Technical Education goals.

The role collaborates with CTE directors, counselors, instructors, and industry partners to design, implement, and continuously improve WBL programs that build hospital/healthcare workplace readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Clinical Nursing experience and related Nursing experience.
• Vocational Authorization in Health Occupations or Annual Authorization Eligibility.
• Basic Life support CPR Instructor Certification.
• Red Cross First Aid Certification/Responding to Emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Review the components and requirements of a work-based learning program.
• Develop objectives and responsibilities for the program.
• Develop a system of training, evaluation, and record maintenance.
• Include student self-knowledge exploration and planning.
• Design the program to include continued improvement and re-evaluation.
• Work closely with CTE Director, counselor(s), CTE program instructors, other CTE related specialty teachers, and staff in the planning, development, and evaluation of the program to ensure that decisions are made with equity and inclusion in mind.
• Effectively use community resources. Establish and maintain a presence among area employers to promote the value in providing work-based learning experiences for all students.
• Communicate with the media to promote and sustain the WBL program.
