Job summary

St. Louis Community College is seeking a Health Sciences Retention Coach to provide student-facing services at Florissant Valley and Wildwood campuses.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of relevant experience, plus a minimum of three years of relevant full-time professional experience.
• Experience working with health care students in an academic setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements equity-driven retention strategies that address academic, social, and financial barriers
• Monitors student progress and provides proactive interventions through individual and group coaching
• Guides students in building academic and career-readiness skills, including study strategies, test preparation, time management, and communication
• Provides trauma-informed and inclusive advising to support student well-being, resilience, and sense of belonging
• Facilitates referrals to campus and community resources
• Collaborates with clinical partners and employers to align learning experiences with career pathways
• Collects, analyzes, and applies student data to guide program improvements and evidence-based interventions
• Supports program accreditation requirements by serving on advisory boards and contributing to documentation and reporting
• Participates in recruitment and outreach to prospective students
