Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking a 12-month, full-time Health Science Core and CNA/PCT Instructor to teach Allied Health Core and Nurse Aide/Patient Care courses. The faculty will provide theory and practical instruction to prepare students for post-secondary Health Science programs or entry-level health roles, including clinical supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a health care field required.
• Current LPN or RN license in Georgia.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in health care field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and clinicals using appropriate teaching methods.
• Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for occupational courses.
• Advise and register health sciences students.
• Develop and coordinate curriculum; conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department as requested.
• Evaluate effectiveness of courses through student data, graduate surveys, and employer surveys.
• Complete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments and agencies.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards of regional and national accrediting agencies.
• Participate in advisory committees for the department, as well as other college committees and meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas.
• Instruct students, develop program syllabi, goals, and objectives.
• Initiate and facilitate student activities for health care assistant and health care science students.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Assist with cataloging and ordering equipment and supplies.
• Assist with developing the annual health sciences core budget(s).
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
