Job summary

Habasit America seeks a detail-oriented Health & Safety Specialist to strengthen safety programs at our Middletown, CT facility. The role oversees program development, training record administration, and regulatory compliance to foster a proactive safety culture across the site.

You will conduct inspections, root-cause investigations, and reporting while coordinating training sessions, certifications, and refresher courses to ensure all employees stay current with OSHA and internal requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining employee training records and compliance documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing health and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and facilitate safety committee meetings and safety improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and maintain required safety documentation, permits, and records.
• Assist with emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response procedures.
• Recommend and implement improvements to reduce workplace hazards and enhance employee safety.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices related to workplace health and safety.
