Job summary

Mariposa County’s Health Services Division seeks a Health Record Technician to perform routine to moderately complex clerical and health record maintenance, support medical providers, and assist with patient reception and scheduling.

You will update electronic health records, interpret privacy rules, and help transfer protected health information to authorized providers while maintaining confidentiality in a county healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of clerical, administrative, or medical record maintenance experience.
• Working proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, e-mail, and data-based software.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine to moderately complex clerical duties and administrative support.
• Updates and maintains client medical records in the electronic health record.
• Schedules, greets, and directs patients and manages appointments.
• Interprets and applies laws and regulations concerning medical record maintenance.
• Assists in transferring protected health information to authorized providers.
• Monitors provider schedules to adhere to client programs and medication availability.
• Performs general administrative, data entry, and clerical tasks.
• Handles financial transactions and processes payments.
• Provides clerical support for committees/meetings.
• Monitors supplies and vehicle availability for the department.
