Job summary

Glacier Support Services at Fort Belvoir, VA, seeks a Health Promotion Technician to support the Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC) and advance primary prevention services. You will coordinate outreach, schedule appointments, educate clients, conduct basic health assessments, manage records in military systems, and assist the AFWC Director with equipment maintenance.

Required: 4-year allied health degree, AHA BLS, MS Office proficiency, excellent customer service, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in an Allied Health field from an accredited college or university.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Preferred: Degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate community outreach events, schedule appointments, refer, and provide clerical support.
• Educate clients on AFWC services and assist Health Educators with biometric screenings.
• Conduct basic health and biometric assessments and briefings.
• Manage center schedules using Microsoft Office and military medical record systems.
• Perform data entry for automated systems used by the facility.
• Assist the AFWC Director with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Glacier Support Services is seeking a Health Promotion Technician to support the Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC) at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

The Health Promotion Technician supports primary prevention services designed to improve health and build readiness and participates in the AFWC’s six core programs: health assessment review, physical fitness, healthy nutrition, stress management, general wellness education, and tobacco education.

What You’ll Do:

• Coordinate community outreach events, schedule appointments, manage referrals, and provide administrative and clerical support.
• Educate clients on the AFWC mission and available services and support Health Educators with biometric screenings.
• Conduct basic health and biometric assessments and standardized health promotion briefings.
• Manage center schedules using Microsoft Office Suite and military medical record systems.
• Perform data entry for automated systems utilized by the medical treatment facility.
• Assist the AFWC Director with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

Required:

• 4-year degree in an Allied Health field from an accredited college or university, including health promotion, health education, exercise science, nutrition science, or related Allied Health disciplines.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• U.S. citizenship required.
