Job summary

Glacier Support Services is seeking a Health Promotion Technician to support the Armed Forces Wellness Center at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

You will assist in primary prevention services and support the AFWC’s six core programs: health assessment, fitness, nutrition, stress management, wellness education, and tobacco education. Responsibilities include coordinating outreach events, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, training clients in health topics, conducting basic health assessments,

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in an Allied Health field from an accredited college or university (health promotion, health education, exercise science, nutrition science, or related Allied Health disciplines).
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate community outreach events, schedule appointments, manage referrals, and provide administrative and clerical support.
• Educate clients on the AFWC mission and available services and support Health Educators with biometric screenings.
• Conduct basic health and biometric assessments and standardized health promotion briefings.
• Manage center schedules using Microsoft Office Suite and military medical record systems.
• Perform data entry for automated systems utilized by the medical treatment facility.
• Assist the AFWC Director with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
