Under the direction and supervision of the Associate Director of Health Promotion, this position supervises and leads the health education team within the Health Promotion unit. The health education team supports the success and personal development of students with universal and selected interventions focused at the individual-level. This position coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based and theory-drive health promotion programs across the health education team. Additionally, this position provides administrative support across the Health Promotion unit in budget management, staff management, and policy development and implementation.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements

Experience with personnel management, training, and supervision.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.

Demonstrated experience applying laws, rules, policies and procedures.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and problem-solving skills in the implementation of programs.

Ability and willingness to work some nights and/or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience in higher education.

Experience supervising one or more full-time staff.

Experience facilitating health promotion or other programs.

Knowledge of and experience with implementation of evidence-informed health promotion programs.

Experience with needs assessments and program assessment or evaluation.

Certified Health Education Specialist ( CHES ), Certified in Public Health ( CPH ), or eligible and intent to become certified. Trained facilitator for the Green Dot bystander intervention program or the BASICS substance abuse prevention program.

History of active membership in relevant professional associations (e.g., ACHA , APHA , NASPA , SOPHE , etc.).
