Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Product Strategist, Consultant to drive product strategy development and execution for multiple commercial and consumer lines of business. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Product Strategy and focuses on Individual & Family Plans market insights, translating needs into actionable strategies.

The position emphasizes portfolio direction, roadmaps, and growth initiatives aligned with affordability and member experience, with a hybrid in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree; MBA/MPH strongly preferred
• Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience in product strategy, product management, portfolio management or related fields
• Experience supporting product strategy, roadmap development, business case creation, and evaluation of product performance and profitability drivers
• Deep understanding of health plan products, market dynamics, and regulatory environments
• Extensive knowledge of ACA guidelines, Individual & Family Plan markets, and health plan product management
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrates ownership and problem-solving in ambiguous situations
• Proven ability to translate complexity into action
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives

• Translate market insights, business objectives and customer needs into actionable product strategies
• Support portfolio direction, product roadmaps and product recommendations
