Qualifications

Are you passionate about radiation safety and project management? Join Tradebe Environmental Services as a Health Physics Field Engineer where you’ll lead and support RAD field projects across the U.S., helping customers manage low-level radioactive materials safely and efficiently.

In this customer-facing role, you’ll collaborate with universities, municipalities, and manufacturers while working closely with internal teams, including RAD Techs, Sales, and EHS. You'll play a critical part in ensuring the safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials—everything from curie source packs to smoke detectors—under current licensing requirements.

What Will You Do?

Field Operations & Coordination

  • Oversee and coordinate onsite activities ensuring seamless execution of RAD field service projects.
  • Manage supplies, logistics, and resource allocation for efficient project completion.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor service quality to uphold the highest standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate customer satisfaction.

Customer Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer escalations, providing swift resolutions and strengthening client relationships.
  • Work closely with leadership to understand customer needs and deliver tailored technical support for their specific RAD needs.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain expertise in federal, state, and local regulations for radioactive materials handling and transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, regulatory reporting, and accurate record-keeping for audits and inspections.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Oversight

  • Enforce radiation protection programs, monitor exposure levels, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to safeguard personnel and the environment.

Logistics & Resource Management

  • Track and manage radioactive material inventory, coordinate proper disposal, and collaborate with logistics partners to ensure safe and compliant transportation.

Reporting & Performance Metrics

  • Maintain detailed records of field activities, equipment usage, and technician performance.
  • Provide management with operational reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous evaluation and improvement.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, or related discipline (preferred) or equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • DOT Shippers Certification is a plus.

Experience

  • Experience in the nuclear industry is a must (e.g., nuclear services, industrial equipment, radioactive source retrieval, etc.)
  • Previous experience in field services, maintenance, or related roles in nuclear sector preferred

Skills

  • Must be prepared to travel to remote sites for field service efforts
  • Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions (outdoors, industrial environments).
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent service calls outside of standard working hours required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

Fully on-site position based in Albuquerque, NM. Must travel 50%+ to customer sites throughout the US. When not travelling this person will be supporting the operations in Albuquerque.
