Job summary

Red Pulley Technology Solutions is seeking a Health IT Technical Writer I to support a federal Health IT modernization initiative for ICE IHSC. This role performs substantive technical writing, documentation, editing, and knowledge management for Health IT implementation and training.

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Remote), with occasional onsite work required. Clearance: Public Trust; Employment Type: Full-Time; Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, IT, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience developing technical, operational, or user documentation for IT/Health IT.
  • Excellent writing, editing, grammar, organization, and information-structuring skills.
  • Ability to translate technical subject matter for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with document-development, collaboration, publishing, and content-management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple documentation products and revisions simultaneously.
  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident; legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, edit, format, and maintain technical and user documentation.
  • Create SOPs, work instructions, user guides, reference materials, and manuals.
  • Translate complex information into clear content for intended audiences.
  • Interview SMEs, gather requirements, and produce docs from available information.
  • Standardize structure, terminology, and content for readability and maintainability.
  • Review contractor docs for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with templates and governance.
  • Develop diagrams, flows, tables, and graphics as needed.
  • Maintain version control and support review workflows in government repositories.
  • Maintain inventories and revision histories of documentation.
  • Support training, change management, and knowledge transfer through documentation.
  • Coordinate activities with technical, clinical, program, cybersecurity, data, and ops stakeholders.

Red Pulley Technology Solutions is seeking a Health IT Technical Writer I to support a federal Health IT modernization initiative for the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Health Services Corps (IHSC). This role performs substantive technical writing, documentation, editing, content development, and knowledge management supporting Health IT implementation, sustainment, governance, operations, training, and user understanding.


Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Remote), with occasional onsite work required by Government


Clearance: Public Trust - Preliminary and Complete Fitness Determination Required


Employment Type: Full-Time


Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience developing technical, operational, procedural, or user documentation for complex IT or Health IT environments

  • Excellent writing, editing, grammar, organization, and information-structuring skills

  • Ability to translate technical subject matter into clear material for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proficiency with common document-development, collaboration, publishing, and content-management tools

  • Ability to manage multiple documentation products and revisions simultaneously

  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, write, edit, format, and maintain technical, operational, program, training, governance, and user documentation

  • Develop standard operating procedures, work instructions, user guides, reference materials, technical reports, process documentation, manuals, knowledge articles, and similar work products

  • Translate complex technical, clinical, operational, and program information into clear content appropriate for intended audiences

  • Review source information, interview subject-matter experts, gather requirements, and independently develop documentation from available technical and operational information

  • Standardize document structure, terminology, formatting, and content to improve consistency, readability, usability, and maintainability

  • Review and edit contractor-prepared documentation for clarity, accuracy, completeness, grammar, organization, consistency, and compliance with applicable templates, governance, security, accessibility (Section 508), and records-management requirements

  • Develop diagrams, process flows, tables, graphics, or other explanatory content as appropriate

  • Maintain version control using Government-approved document repositories and support document-review and approval workflows

  • Maintain documentation inventories, revision histories, and content-status information

  • Support implementation, training, change-management, transition, knowledge-transfer, and sustainment activities through documentation

  • Coordinate documentation activities with technical, clinical, program, training, cybersecurity, data, and operational stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with healthcare, Health IT, Federal IT, or similarly complex regulated environments

  • Experience supporting EHR modernization, implementation, or system transition efforts

  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards and records-management requirements

  • Experience with SharePoint, Confluence, or similar Government-approved content repositories
