Job summary

Madera Community College at Oakhurst invites applications to join its part-time Health Instructor pool. Instructors teach Health courses across formats including face-to-face, online, and hybrid, and contribute to student success in a diverse campus community.

The ideal candidate will uphold equity-minded practices, communicate effectively with students and staff, and maintain accurate records while meeting college standards and policies.

Qualifications

• All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
• Master's in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition or public health.
• Bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in any biological science.
• A valid California Community College Credential.
• The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
• Experience and/or knowledge of equity-minded practices in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teaching a part-time schedule of Health courses as assigned.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and integrating a wide range of instructional delivery systems including innovative and creative uses of technology for face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Maintaining classroom records and turning in grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
• Fulfilling duties as required by Administrative Regulation 7122 and other responsibilities as assigned.

Education

Master's in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition or public health

Bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in any biological science

A valid California Community College Credential
