Baptist Health System is hiring for a Health Information Clerk to support clerical tasks in the medical records department. You will reconcile records, analyze deficiencies, and assist with birth certificate processing and transcription support, under management guidance.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (associates in HIT preferred) and at least 1 year of health information experience. RHIA/RHIT preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree preferred in Health Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 1 year health information management experience.
• RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Chart reconciliation: retrieve and organize medical records for imaging.
• Perform concurrent and retrospective medical record reviews.
• Support medical staff suspension process and communicate deficiencies.
• Birth certificate processing / release of information requests / transcription support.
