Job summary

Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Health Information Technician to manage daily medical/dental/behavioral health records, ensuring accurate, compliant file handling and secure access for authorized entities.

The HIT will support NextGen systems, assist other departments, float to other locations as needed, and uphold HIPAA, PHI protection, and state/federal regulations while delivering reliable data management and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Experience with patient health records.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records.
• Ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Scans and indexes documents into the NextGen system in a timely, accurate manner.
• Collects patient health records from providers and departments as needed.
• Maintains health records in a standardized order according to policy.
• Verifies releases comply with HIPAA and state/federal laws.
• Responds to health information requests and coordinates with departments.
