Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; health information management experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medical records.
• Knowledge of medical records, release of information, and patient privacy.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic health information systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with care teams.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records for completion deficiencies and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of medical records through review, scanning, data entry, and issue resolution.
• Track deficiencies and assign items to staff for timely completion.
• Support physicians with electronic dictation and documentation workflows.
• Manage retrieval, printing, scanning, logging, and distribution of records.
• Protect patient privacy per HIPAA and hospital policies.
• Provide professional service to physicians, patients, families, and visitors; assist on-call retrieval and dictation queues.
