Job summary

Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. seeks an experienced Health Information Management leader to supervise the HIM department, ensure compliant medical records, and drive policy development.

The role involves coordinating with RCM, Finance, and clinical staff, maintaining EHR systems, and upholding HIPAA/privacy standards within the Navajo Nation. A Bachelor’s degree and RHIA/RHIT or CPC are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of direct experience in Health Information Management.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field with RHIA/RHIT or CPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and maintains efficient operations of the department and ensures high quality health information records.
• Develops and updates policies and procedures for management of the department.
• Leads team environment and coordinates programs with other departments.
• Maintains EHR and implements, maintains Direct Messaging, PHR, and related HIM tools.
