Mary’s Center in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Patient Health Information Coordinator to ensure accurate, secure management of health records across the organization. The role supports HIPAA compliance, data quality in EHRs, and timely processing to aid patient care and regulatory adherence.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or related coursework preferred.
• 1–2 years of health information management or related healthcare experience required.
• Experience with EHR systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and ROI requirements essential.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsabilidades

• Manage patient health information lifecycle from creation to secure destruction.
• Ensure HIPAA and privacy compliance across records.
• Support data quality through indexing, chart reviews, and documentation in EHR.
• Coordinate ROI requests with proper authorization and documentation.
• Support clinical teams with accurate chart data and visit history.
• Manage patient identifiers, chart organization, and reconciliation.
• Liaise with billing and coding to ensure documentation for claims and reporting.
• Provide workflow guidance on HIM processes and privacy procedures.
• Generate and analyze reports on confidentiality breaches and data quality.
• Assist with system updates and privacy safeguards with IT teams.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and best practices.
