Job summary

JD McCarty Center in Norman, OK is seeking a Health Information Director to lead the Health Information Department. This role oversees privacy, records integrity, coding, and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to CMS, HIPAA, and state standards.

The Director will advance data quality, supervise staff, develop policies, and collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to support compliant, accurate health information management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information, Health Administration, or related healthcare field.
• RHIT and RHIA credentials required (AHIMA).
• Minimum five (5) years of Health Information experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with electronic health records and healthcare regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates Health Information Department operations.
• Supervises and mentors Health Information personnel.
• Develops department goals, budgets, and performance measures.
• Ensures integrity, confidentiality, and security of patient health information.
• Directs coding activities and ICD-10-CM assignment with regulatory alignment.
• Maintains readiness for CMS surveys and accreditation reviews.
• Acts as HIPAA compliance officer and leads privacy program.
• Oversees EHR management and information workflow improvements.
• Collaborates with administration, clinical staff, and IT to improve performance.
