Job summary

Highland Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Health Information Management Clerk to assist with access to protected health information. You will respond to medical information requests and ensure compliance with hospital and federal policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality is required.
• Ability to handle and organize medical records with care.

Responsibilities

• Ensures ER charts have EMS reports attached timely.
• Preps charts for scanning according to productivity standards.
• Scans medical records and performs quality control checks.
• Maintains HIPAA standards at all times.
• Receives department calls and routes them as needed.
• Logs records and reviews Patient Portal access requests.
