Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking an Instructor to deliver approved curriculum in health information technology within an applied learning environment. You will facilitate activities, mentor students, and integrate technology to enrich learning experiences.

A degree or credential in the teaching area is required, with CAHIIM familiarity and a focus on outcomes. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining records, and collaborating with support services

Qualifications

• Must have a degree and/or certification in their assigned teaching area.
• Professional preparation and experience, competence in assigned teaching areas, effectiveness in teaching.
• Familiarity with CAHIIM accreditation standards.
• Ability to develop and update HIT curriculum to align with industry standards and educational best practices.
• Commitment to staying current with developments in the field of health information technology through continuing education and professional development activities.
• Demonstrate flexibility with evening, weekend, or summer assignment as appropriate.
• Demonstrate proficiency with technology that supports learning and teaching; Maintains a flexible schedule.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
• Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes.
• Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records, and ensure safety and equipment security.

Teaching experience (preferred)

RHIT or RHIA credential (preferred)

Associates Degree in Health Information Technology/Management
