Job summary

Texas State Technical College seeks an instructor to deliver HIT curriculum in an applied learning environment. You will engage diverse learners, provide mentorship, and assess student progress using modern technology.

Role requires delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining records, and collaborating with the Office of Student Success to boost retention and placement. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree and/or certification in their assigned teaching area.
• Familiarity with the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) accreditation standards.
• Ability to develop and update HIT curriculum to align with industry standards and educational best practices.
• Commitment to staying current with developments in the field of health information technology through continuing education and professional development activities.
• Demonstrate competency with use of technology that supports learning and teaching; Maintains a flexible schedule, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignment, as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY: Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
• INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT: Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records and safe instructional environment.
• STUDENT RETENTION AND PLACEMENT: Advise students with timely, accurate information and coordinate with Student Success.
• PROGRAM RECRUITMENT & PROMOTION: Participate in tours and recruitment events; assist in planning.
• TEAMWORK & SERVICE: Demonstrate service mindset, collaborate with colleagues and adapt to a variety of schedules.
