Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) seeks a Community Coordinator to engage with community partners, promote health services, and support program development in Bronx neighborhoods. You will coordinate events, prepare materials, and represent the Bureau of Bronx Neighborhood Health at health fairs and meetings.

Requirements include 2–3 years of community work, excellent organization, and strong communication skills, including multilingual ability.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities.
• Alternatively, high school graduation with six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Candidates must have at least one year of related experience if using the alternative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and support bureau meetings, including agendas and notes.
• Manage the Assistant Commissioner's calendar and coordinate meetings.
• Engage with community partners to promote health services and education.
• Develop relationships with a broad range of community partners.
• Coordinate events, workshops, and presentations to promote healthy behaviors.
