Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator for the Bureau of Bronx Neighborhood Health to promote health services, resources, and education within Bronx communities. You will build partnerships with community groups and support program development and events to improve health outcomes.

The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, calendar management, and data reporting, with opportunities to contribute to health equity initiatives across the borough.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and two years of related community work experience, or equivalent.
• High school diploma with six years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate in a second language.
• Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with Bronx communities and local organizations.

Responsibilities

• Support bureau meetings: agendas, materials, notes, and external stakeholder coordination.
• Manage Assistant Commissioner's calendar and meeting logistics.
• Engage with community partners to promote health services and education.
• Develop relationships with a broad range of community partners.
• Support program development, planning, coordination, and evaluation.
• Coordinate events, workshops, and presentations to promote healthy behaviors.
• Represent the Bureau at health fairs and external events.
• Deliver presentations to diverse community audiences.
• Maintain and report data on community activities and results.
• Prepare progress and evaluation reports.
• Participate in public health emergency response as needed.
• Support Bureau-wide programs and initiatives.
