Job summary

NCIA School Program in Maryland is seeking a Health Education Teacher to join our on-site team. You will design engaging health education lessons for students with diverse needs, aligned to IEP goals, and create a trauma-informed, supportive classroom.

You will collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families, participate in IEP meetings, and monitor progress, ensuring compliant documentation. A Bachelor's in Health Education or related field and Maryland certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education or related field.
• Maryland educator certification with Health Education endorsement, or eligibility.
• Experience in special education or supporting diverse learners preferred.
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned health education instruction.
• Teach wellness, nutrition, mental and emotional health, safety, disease prevention.
• Differentiate instruction to support individual learning needs and IEP goals.
• Create a trauma-informed, structured classroom environment.
• Monitor student progress and maintain educational documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, clinicians, behavior staff, families, and other professionals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goals and progress.
• Use approved behavioral support, de-escalation, and safety practices.
