Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Education, or a closely related field.
• Maryland educator certification with the appropriate Health Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain required certification.
• Strong communication, classroom-management, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in special education or supporting students with diverse needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned health education instruction.
• Teach wellness, nutrition, mental and emotional health, safety, disease prevention, and healthy decision-making.
• Differentiate instruction to support individual learning needs and IEP goals.
• Create a structured, trauma-informed classroom environment.
• Monitor student progress and maintain required educational documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, clinicians, behavior staff, families, and other professionals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goals and progress.
• Use approved behavioral support, de-escalation, and safety practices.
