Job summary

State of West Virginia’s Health Department seeks a senior manager to oversee all aspects of the department, including finances, staffing, grants, and day-to-day operations. You will supervise employees, ensure licensing and training, handle payroll and taxes, and engage with the public and local/state meetings.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field and at least four years of supervisory experience; a Master’s can substitute. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Four years of administrative or supervisory experience in business or public administration or public health administration.
• Master's degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Training: Baccalaureate degree in community health, health administration, nursing, or public or business administration.
• Experience with grant writing and managing grant monies.
• Payroll and budgeting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all financial aspects of the Health Department.
• Write grants and manage grant monies.
• Create and manage budgets; year-end reports.
• Collect revenues and deposits; pay bills.
• Supervise and develop staff; schedules, training, leaves.
• Represent the department in meetings and public health activities.
