Job summary

The Health Department seeks a leader to oversee all financial and operational aspects, including payroll, budgeting, and grant management. You will supervise staff, ensure training and compliance, handle public inquiries, and participate in public health initiatives and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications include a baccalaureate degree in relevant fields, with four years of supervisory experience; a master's degree may substitute for the required experience.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in community health, health administration, nursing, or public or business administration.
• Master's degree in public health, public or business administration, counseling and guidance, or health related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional, administrative or supervisory experience in business or public administration, public health administration, primary care or hospital administration or nursing.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the Health Department including financials, payroll, grants, and budget
• Write grants to secure funding and manage grant monies
• Maintain accurate financial records and complete year-end reports
• Manage staff, scheduling, training, vacations, and performance issues
• Communicate with the public, handle complaints, and participate in local emergency preparedness activities
• Attend county and state meetings related to public health and public health crises

Education
